About Korimako
Korimako is an historic two-storey Victorian villa built in 1884 as the Vicarage for the parish of Pigeon Bay.
The house has undergone extensive renovations in the past to provide a perfect blend of ‘old meets new’. Landscaped outdoor living attracts plentiful sun and encourages blissful indoor/outdoor flow. The house has a north-facing, elevated situation with commanding views of the bay and surrounding countryside. Korimako has been architecturally enhanced yet many of the rooms retain their original character. It is tastefully furnished with some of the beds made from native timbers recycled from the house renovations and NZ art adornes the walls. As well as house renovations the garden too has undergone many changes. Large areas of the garden have been replaced predominantly with NZ native species. There is an abundance of fruit trees eg. Citrus, apples, plums, apricots, fig, etc which are tended to with an organic philosophy of no spraying. |
